Okay, we’re back in action after a long time without an update. What happened since my last post? Let’s see…. we won our 19th league title, lost the champions league final, beat Arsenal 8-2 (which was nice) and oh yeah lost 6-1 to Man City. Great. So it’s been a great year in most respects but a poor year in other respects.

I know every Man Utd fan doesn’t want to talk about it but two weeks ago we lost 6-1 to Man City. It was sad, it was depressing. I never felt so much anger and pain about football as I did seeing the result of that match. It’s a good thing I didn’t get the chance to watch it. What made me even more angry was seeing that three goals were scored in extra time. Like what the fuck??? Did we forget how to defend? Did we forget how to say ‘it’s not our day’? It was the lowest point of my Manchester United supporting days.

But every cloud has a silver lining. Since that match we’ve played in three different competitions, four matches. Four clean sheets and four wins. Now I’m not saying that the teams we played were particularily tough but we came from that crushing defeat, we beat Aldershot (yeah real heavyweights), Everton (always a tough match), Otelul (not tough but it was Champions League) and Sunderland (tricky match). We never conceded and maybe that defeat by Man City gave us the kick up the arse we needed to stop leaking goals. Maybe there is an element of luck about it but I’ve no doubt that Fergie has roared the riot act and kicked some sense into them.

Rooney being in midfield hasn’t helped our attacking options but once Ashley Young and Fletcher are fully fit again there is no reason why we can’t start scoring again. Rooney certainly has helped our defence. No doubt.

Statement from Manchester United:

Wayne Rooney has agreed a new 5 year contract to stay at Manchester United until at least June 2015.

The agreement follows intensive discussions between the Club and the player’s representatives and means that by the end of his contract Wayne will have been a Manchester United player for 11 years.

Sir Alex Ferguson said: “It’s been a difficult week, but the intensity of the coverage is what we expect at Manchester United. I said to the boy that the door is always open and I’m delighted Wayne has agreed to stay.

“Sometimes, when you’re in a club, it can be hard to realise just how big it is and it takes something like the events of the last few days to make you understand. I think Wayne now understands what a great club Manchester United is.

“I’m pleased he has accepted the challenge to guide the younger players and establish himself as one of United’s great players. It shows character and belief in what we stand for.

“I’m sure everyone involved with the Club will now get behind Wayne and show him the support he needs to produce the performances we know he is capable of.”

Wayne Rooney said: “I’m delighted to sign another deal at United. In the last couple of days, I’ve talked to the Manager and the owners and they’ve convinced me this is where I belong. I said on Wednesday the Manager’s a genius and it’s his belief and support that have convinced me to stay.

“I’m signing a new deal in the absolute belief that the management, coaching staff, board and owners are totally committed to making sure United maintains its proud winning history – which is the reason I joined the Club in the first place.

“I’m sure the fans over the last week have felt let down by what they’ve read and seen. But my position was from concern over the future. The fans have been brilliant with me since I arrived and it’s up to me through my performances to win them over again.”

Thoughts? Can Rooney be accepted by United fans and players again?

Alex Ferguson has just confirmed that Wayne Rooney wants to leave Manchester United after refusing to sign a new contract. Fergie said he was shocked and disappointed at Rooney’s decision.

He said that David Gill informed him on August 14th that Rooney was unwilling to sign a new contract after being offered the highest salary ever for a Man Utd player. He also said that United may have to meet his request and sell Rooney come January.

He denied that he has ever fallen out with Rooney and says that he feels that Rooney has not respected Manchester United.

Rooney has been ruled out of the Champions League tomorrow due to an ankle injury picked up in training this morning.

Very disgusted at Rooney and really hoping that we sell him in January for a good £50 million (hopeful). Hero to zero in two days.

Wayne Rooney has told Manchester United that he will not be signing a new deal when his current one expires at the end of next season. This means that in all probability he will be sold in the summer or even January as United won’t want to lose their most valuable player on a free.

Rooney apparently is claiming that the lack of investment in the squad and a tense relationship with Fergie is to blame.

Rooney was caught smoking and pissing on the street a few months back. Fergie bubbled.

Rooney was found to be a cheating bastard when the News of the World found out he had cheated on his wife when she was pregnant. Fergie boiled.

Rooney contradicts Fergie claim that he was injured and that is why he didn’t play against Sunderland (it is thought that Fergie wanted to keep Rooney out of the limelight after the sex scandal). Fergie explodes and leaves him out of the starting line-up against West Brom.

Rooney hasn’t scored from open play since March. Maybe, just maybe, Fergie doesn’t want to meet Rooney’s outrageous £150,000 a week wage demands. After all, does he deserve it? Be rewarded for pissing in the street, smoking when your an athlete, cheating on your wife and making your bosses seem like a jerk for claiming your injured.

I have been asked to publicise this from Goal.com:

Manchester United supporters have unveiled plans for a mass protest march against the Glazer family later this month, Goal.com UK can reveal.

It will take place before the club’s televised home Premier League match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, October 30.

The fresh anti-Glazer protests have been sparked by the club’s latest annual figures, which revealed last Friday that United had record losses of £83.6 million despite posting record turnover and operating profit figures.

Organisers say the march has been timed not only to build on the increasing anger among supporters towards the American owners but also the momentum of last season’s ‘Green and Gold’ campaign.

“The results have come out and they’re not pretty,” said a spokesman for United Against Glazer, which has launched a website and a Facebook page under the same name. “The idea behind it is to get the momentum going again after last season.

“We all know the figures by now, how the Glazers have taken £500m out of the club since taking it over in 2005. I don’t know how sustainable these figures are but they are unacceptable.

“The thing for me is that two years ago Paul Scholes started around half the games. Now he is a first-team shoo-in.

“We bought Bebe for nearly £8m when we could have had Rafael van der Vaart at the same price, but I’m sure we wouldn’t pay the wages.

“We are supposed to have £160m in cash but I’d be amazed if the Glazers haven’t got their eyes on that.”

The march, which organisers stress is nothing to do with anti-Glazer organisations Manchester United Supporters’ Trust and the Independent Manchester United Supporters Association, will begin at the Tollgate pub in Manchester at 4.15pm and take in a mile-long route that includes Lancashire Cricket Club before ending up at Sir Matt Busby Way just outside Old Trafford.

Although there were two off-the-cuff protest marches last season, organisers say this one will be more concerted.

“The police and relevant authorities have all been informed,” added the spokesman. “It will be really professional and a demonstration of our anger at the Glazer regime.”

Okay. I haven’t lost the plot or anything but seriously Man Utd are in such bad shape that we should be asking the celebrity fans of United to buy the club. I’ve heard this kid Justin Bieber is worth £100 million and earns £200,000 a gig. I’ve also heard that he supports Man Utd. He could get all his fans to give him a tenner and he’ll have more than enough to buy United. Shirtsales are likely to rocket with his endorsement and our debt could be wiped out.

He could hold a charity event for Man Utd with his endless celebrity friends.

Maybe I have lost the plot but I just want the Glazers to be gone. They are bleeding this club of its ability to compete and for at least another seven years (until the bond is paid back and if they are their that long) there won’t be any real investment.

What do ya think Justin? Fancy bailing us out.

So. It’s been almost a month since my last post and I must apologise for not posting more frequently. I’ve been very busy for the last few weeks and was very sick for a while so I’ve been unable to update the site. Maybe it is from watching United that made me unwell. Seriously. What the fuck lads?

I watched the Champions League game against Valencia fully expecting United to lose because lets face it – away from home this season we are rubbish. So to see United actually win was a huge bonus and Chicharito deserves a lot of credit; he took his goal fantastically. Valencia didn’t deserve to lose but we shall not complain.

Then our most recent game against Sunderland, a middle of the table team that we should be beating, we draw 0-0. The positive is that we kept a clean sheet and that Ferdinand played the entire match. The negative is that we just about held on to the draw. We didn’t attack at all and Sunderland really deserved to win the match. Malbranker had a one on one that he should’ve buried but Van Der Sar did well to keep him out.

Just a couple of days ago United posted their financial statements for the year until June. United made an operating profit of almost £100 million but with interest payments and depreciation that came to a loss of some £83 million. David Gill says that we have £165 million in the bank to invest in the squad. We all know that isn’t true.

In other news, it appears that our troubled rivals Liverpool are finally getting sold. Talking to many United fans, it appears that the majority want to see the Pool go into administration and get deducted the 9 points. I hate them as much as anyone but I really don’t want this to happen. I feel sorry for the Liverpool fans and hope that they do get sold before this Friday. Let’s face it – there is a real possibility that United will be in the same position in a couple of years and I would lose sleep at the thought.
