Okay, yesterday I published a story regarding Ozil and said that he will be playing for United next season. I’ve received alot of feedback from it and people are wondering what my position on it now is.
So here goes. I absolutely stand by what I said. I have a VERY well placed contact (who doesn’t want to be named and I 100% respect that) regarding this player who confirmed once again today that in all probabilty Özil WILL be a United player come September. He claims Özil wants to join United as he is eager to win trophies. He said that a bid was likely to be lodged shortly after United return from Ireland next week.
There has been stories today that would lead you to believe that Özil will be staying at Werder Bremen. There is a better chance of City winning the league that Özil staying.
I won’t apologise for anything until I’m proven wrong.

How is this guy only being valued at £10 Million? Werder need to step in and make it clear that such a sum is not acceptable. They are getting cheated at that price.

@Mike, they may not have much choice as he’s in the last year or a contract and if he says he’ll walk (a la Chamak) they’ll take what they can get. Having said that, they’ve got a good relationship with him so I’m sure there will be a negotiation and I’d expect any fee to be closer, if not more than, 15 mill.

I know the cleaner at the ozil family estate. She said that ozil wants to go to barcelona and said that ozil doesn’t think manchester united will make a bid since there has been NO contact with his agent so far!

To be fair Mark T Ozil, regardless of that interview, is NOT staying at WB. No chance. They are not going to lose all that cash on him and some club will bid. Whether he ends up at us is the contentious issue.
I wouldn’t read too much into that. Remember Ronaldo consistently said he would be playing for United last season then you wake up and he is gone to Madrid for £80 million. Players say these things.

Still think he is just guessing and pretending he knows something, and just hoping and praying he does sign so he can then say told you so.
As far as I can see the only indication he might come is Skybet having us favourites but none of the other bookies have us as favourites.
Ozil will go to Madrid, I would put £100 on this (if had it)

I think if he goes to Madrid it is more likely on a free later on, there is no pressing need for Madrid to sign him right now. I agree he likely will go Madrid.

Ozil won’t be going to Madrid because Madrid want him for free, and I don’t think Bremen would allow that to happen. They would rather sell. United’s game is in two days so let’s just wait till the start of next week and see what might happen.
